A fob for me

I dug this pattern out of my stash and decided to make myself a little scissor fob. Believe it or not, this is the first padded fob I have made for me. I've done beaded ones, but never a stitched on. The pattern is Heart Throb a freebie by The Drawn Thread. I changed the colors of the pattern to redwork. I made my two stitching friends one a couple of years ago for Valentines Day. I think it turned out very well.

New Finishes

It was a lazy day for me today. I did manage to finishethe two small ornaments for the Sisters in Wisconsin. The ornaments begin their trek to Wisconsin on Friday. So far I have not managed to master the camera I have. All my shots seem out of focus to me. Guess I will have to practice some more.

On Sunday my friend Lynn and I drove down to Idabel to visit our friend Mary Ann. The three of us are stitchers. I finished the stitching on my two Christmas ornaments pictured, and one other ornament.

Mary Ann owns a small gift shop. I came back with lots of non-stitching stash! Now where, oh where, will I put it.

Cross-Stitch shopping

My friend Lynn and I went shopping at our two favorite LNSs yesterday in Tulsa. We started with The Siver Needle. Lindy had three trunk shows going at one time, Carriage House Samplings, Jenette Douglas Designs, and Teresa Layman Designs. I enjoyed looking at each and every one of the pieces on display. While the TLDs were gorgeous, I'm not ready to tackle all of those teeny french knots.

From the SNN we drove across the street, yes, I said across the street, to The Stitchworks. Can you believe two great LNSs in the same town and in such close proximity? I took my Loose Feathers design, Spring Fling, in to be framed. I can't wait to see the finished product. I will post as soon as I get it back.

By then it was lunch time. We headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant and enjoyed every bite. Then we met Lynn's husband, GW. They went to a wood turning show and I went to Wild Oats.

All in all it was a good day. Lynn and I always enjoy our needlework shopping. I can't believe it, but I had no additions to my stash. I'll have to make up for it next trip!

WIP Garden of Life

Here's my progress on Garden of Life after about 10 hours of stitching. I'm a pretty slow stitcher. I've never kept track of my stitching time on a project, but have noticed that others do. So, the next time I pick up my needle on this WIP, I'll time myself.
Tuesday's are my volunteer day at the local Humane Society. We are over run with kittens. I wish I could take them all home, but alas, my duplex is just too small.
I've been stitching on some small ornaments for two dear Catholic Sisters. One was the principal at an elementary school where I taught for four years. The other was also a teacher there. I'll post them when I've finished them.
I also have Summer Bird by Heart in Hand to finish into a hanging ornament. I am a big fan of the Wee One birds.
Today began with rain, then the sun came out, and now it is overcast again. I don't mind the rain so much, except it makes mowing the lawn difficult. Mine is getting very high.
Onward and upward, stitching is waiting. Later.

A New Start

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th. Mine was quiet. I spent the day at my parents weeding flower beds and am suffering for it this morning. My stitchin' arm is numb, a complication from diabetes. Sure does make working on projects difficult as I cannot hold on to the needle very well. But alas, I try anyway.

The 4th ushered in a new start for me, Blackbird Designs "Garden of Life." It's #21 of their Loose Feathers Club. BbDs is one of my favorite designers. There's many projects in my stash waiting to be done.

It takes me forever to get a project finished because of my slow stitch speed. I'm amazed at thow fast some stitchers can go.

A new finish

Hello,
I put the finishing touches on Bloomin' 4th by Cindy Morrill of the Stitchworks in Tulsa. I made it into a large pinkeep.

Rain, Rain Go Away

It's been a while since I posted. Last week I was house/dog sitting for some friends of mine. Their home is beautiful. I found it hard to stitch out there because the grounds are lovely. I would just sit and watch the wild turkeys, horses, ducks and geese at play. It rained every day. Matter of fact, Oklahoma has had it's fair share of rain.



I did manage to complete a 4th of July piece by Cindy of the Stitchworks. I'll post a pic when I have it finished.



I also completed three small Christmas ornaments. The pattern is Joy by Lilibet Designs. I just love the little tree. I'll post pictures as soon as they are finished.
