Giftie for my friend Joan

Better late than never, right?  I delivered this little pillow to my friend Joan on Sunday.  It was only 16 days late for her birthday, but I did at least get it to her in her birth month.  She was thrilled with it.  I forgot to take a photo of the back with the   our names and the date.  Her birthday is July 5th.  She loves the little Christmas ornaments I make her so I kept going back and forth between Christmas and Patriotic.  I'm glad I chose patriotic.  It will go nicely with her other little pillows.  The design is from The Prairie Schooler leaflet Stars and Stripes.  Now I want one for myself!

Exchange from Julianne

Julianne and I have been exchanging Halloween/autumn pieces for a few years now.  This is what I received from her this week.  She always chooses such great designs to stitch from Prairie Schooler.  Don't you just love this one?  I certainly do.  Thank you so much,

Julianne.  I put mine in the mail to her Saturday but forgot to take a photo.

I have been stitching a little this week.  I'm working on  Blackbird Designs Halloween Eve.  I won't get it finished by the 31st, but it is an easy design to work with.  Easy is good!

Have a great stitching week.

Quaker Garden, Winter Wonderland and 2011 Prairie Schooler

Here are my latest framed pieces.  I am not a good photographer, so hopefully you get the idea of what they look like. I have no adequate area in my abode to take photos, so I do the best I can.  Hope you enjoy them.

I give up, I cannot make them look centered in Blogger.

Julianne and I

Julianne and I decided to do another exchange between us.  She stitched me the cat.  I only wish my Tobiecat would smile at me like this one!  I stitched her the angel.  We both like Prairie Schooler designs, so it is easy to choose a piece to stitch.  I love my cat Julianne.  Thank you. What a great Christmas ornament.  It is hanging on my wall since I don't put up a tree...because of you know who.

Rosalie Received Her May Ornament

I heard from Rosalie that she received the May ornament for the Christmas Ornament Swap exchange. I chose to stitch the Prairie Schooler ornament from the 2009 JCS ornament issue. It was a fun stitch. Rosalie loves PS and so do I so it was a fun stitch for me to do for her. She said she loved it. That makes the stitching worth it! The photo isn't very good. I think my camera batteries were getting low.

A sleepless night for me after a round of heavy storms passed through OK. A funnel, not a tornado, was sighted on the northwest side of Okmulgee. No damage was done.

Since I couldn't sleep, I tackled my stash room. I have too much for such a small area. It doesn't look good, but my friend Lynn can at least get in there while I'm on vacation. She has volunteered to feed and water my Tobie while I'm gone. Good friends are hard to come by, so I'll keep her! We enjoy many of the same things so I'm lucky to have her as a friend.

I received a wonderful ornament from Lisa S. today. I'll post a photo of it tomorrow or should I say later today since it is early morning.

Another ornament for a friend

Another finished ornament tonight. I'm on a roll. I sure had a time of it with the beads. I hope my friend and gentle readers don't look too closely at my finishing. The design is from The Prairie Schooler booklet #150, titled December. I wanted to see what the chart looked like, so I stitched it up. Decided it was a keeper. Hope my friend, who shall remain nameless, cause her sister reads my blog, likes it.
Time for me to hit the hay. Looks like it is going to be a busy day at the Humane Society tomorrow.

October ornament for 2009 Ornament Challenge

Christmas Eve Deer
The Prairie Schooler
November issue The Gift of Stitching
32ct Lambswool, DMC fibers
I knew I would stitch this ornament as soon as I saw it in TGOS. The pattern calls for white moon and snowflakes. However, Barbara of Mainely Stitches, made some color changes on the one she stitched that I really liked. So, I used her idea. I think mine turned out pretty well. This is my October ornament for the challenge. November is almost done, so I'm a gonna make it.
Have a great Sunday. I am in deep mourning this morning. My O-State Cowboys got stomped by the Sooner Schooner.

September Ornament

Greetings readers of my blog. I've been a busy finisher today. This is the third and only ornament I can show that I finished. The other two are for exchanges, so you know the drill. I can't show you them until the recipient receives them. This reindeer is the December Ornament from the Prairie Schooler Summer & Winter book no. 91. It's my September ornie for the 2009 Ornament Challenge blog. Of course I'm still behind, but making progress. Daffycat just released a new cutie, Holly Reindeer. It's definitely on my list for the remaining three months. That's all folks. OK State football is on tv, so hard to watch and type at the same time.
