Not one, but two!

I received two packages today. I've read about this happening on other stitchers blogs, but never ever thought it would happen to me.

First package opened was from Deb. It was filled with wonderful purple tissue paper and revealed a breathtaking biscornu. I still have no words to express my appreciation of this work of art.

She also included a hand-made card, purple scissors, a purple mini office set, and I believe a beaded bookmark and some pins.
My photo does not do her exchange justice. Deb, thank you, thank you. I love it!

The second package was from Wanda for the HoE pinkeep exchange. Again, I was blown away by the contents. She stitched LHN' School Girl Lessons over one. In her note she said she had never done an entire design over one and like how it turned out. I agree, it is wonderful. What can I say, I love it, and the entire exchange.

She also includes lots of other goodies, stitching fabric, finishing fabric, threads, ribbon and chocolate!

Friday, March 28, 2008 was a good day for me. Thanks ladies.

SBEBB Spring Quaker received by Edgar

I saw where Edgar received the Spring Quaker exchange I sent him. He says he likes it, and I'm so glad. I was just a little apprehensive he might not. Those of you who subscribe to the Gift of Stitching will recognize the design from one of the issues. It was a fun stitch for me. I also included the chart "Gobble", a skein of the thread I used, a notepad, and one of the Oklahoma State Quarters.

Mail box surprise

I stayed home from the Humane Society today. Had a day of dizziness and headache. As long as I didn't move too quickly I was ok. Finished the stitching on one of my exchanges, yea!

Imagine my surprise when I went to the mail box and found a package from Sonda in Oregon. I was one of her blogoversary winners. Just look what she sent, and it's purple too! I am honored to receive a gift from her. Thank you Sonda! I love it.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today is one of my favorite holidays. The girls at the shelter are going to celebrate by wearing our green, and having corned beef and cabbage soup for lunch. Here's a quick stitch I finished just this morning in honor of the day.
Hope everyone has their own "slice of blarney" today!

A cat and a black eye

A quick note. Here's my Tobie cat enjoying his favorite Vera Bradley box. He likes to sit in it while I'm keyboarding at the computer.
The second photo is the windowsill above my chair where he likes to sit and keep watch over the community happenings. Here in is where my second exciting event began. I take power naps. Its just a matter of fact, I like to nap and yesterday was no exception. While dozing to Fox News on the tv, I woke to this searing pain in my face and eye area. Once I got my eyes opened and focused, I saw a blur of gray fur struggling. Seems as though My Tobie somehow lost his balance on the window sill and landed on me, the loving master who feeds and waters him. It all happened so quickly, I don't really know what transposed. I do know that I was in pain and bleeding all over one of my favorite blouses. I called my friend Karen, the nurse, and asked her what I should do. She told me, and now here's my bright shiner. This was taken early this morning. The bruise is even worse now. My Sunday School class got a kick out of Miss Becky's eye. I covered it pretty well with make up, however, when I went to the Communion rail in church, Pastor did a double take when he saw me up close. Karen and I were quite the pair today at church. She had extensive dental work done this week so she had a good sized bruise on her chin. We looked like we had been in a brawl!

Spring Quaker received from Carol

Saturday was an eventful day for me. The first exciting episode began when I answered the doorbell to find John, the postman with a box, a package, for me. It was my SBEBB Spring Quaker from Carol, yes The Carol, of Garden of Stitches. Isn't it just gorgeous? To make it even more fun, it's My Pink House by Blackbird Designs, stitched on 32ct Silkweaver Solo Belfast using Weeks Dye Works thread.

The exchange also included lots of goodies in purple, my favorite color, plus a favorite of mine, Just Nan. I'll plant the glads in my iris bed as soon as OK's frost season is over.

I love everything in the exchange. Carol, thank you so much.

My next post will reveal my second exciting event of the day.

S/N Clinic

Greetings one and all. I've been busy stitching on exchange pieces. They are finished and waiting on a few items to complete the exchange and mail.

Last month the Humane Society held a spay/neuter clinic for low income families. We have a wonderful vet who comes from Stillwater with his mobile clinic. The weekend is very busy, but the outcome is successful, no more unwanted cats and dogs. Here' a photo of your's truly very efficiently doing the paperwork.
Will post a photo of my latest finish later this weekend. Have to make a Hobby Lobby run for some fabric and ribbon.

Miscellaneous stitched pieces

Before I discovered blogging and exchanges I purchased the monthly kits from my two LNS. Most of the kits were on large count fabric with various specialty threads. I had fun stitching these kits, and still have more than I like to admit to. So, as promised, here's a few that have been stitched, but not finished. The bottom heart is destined for a pinkeep one of these days, the little pilgrim is going to be a stand-up. I have the matching pilgrim lady also. I love Halloween, so I'll probably do a large pinkeep for it. The large blossom was designed to be a pillow, but with my Toby cat, I don't do pillows. I think I'll give the apple to a teacher friend of mine to finish as she so chooses.

This is what I woke up to this morning. I'm guessing it's about three or four inches. No shelter work for me today. Pam, the catkeeper, planned ahead yesterday and left extra food and water for the cats. The city ACO will take care of the dogs. So, as soon as I finish posting this, I'm going to stitch, stitch, stitch. I should be able to finish off my biscornu exchange. Yea. Have a great day.

Snowy Day

It's been a while since I posted. Many of my friends are getting on my case because I am behind. I've been stitching, I just can't show any of it because all is for exchanges. I read today that I'm not a slow stitcher, but a "precise" stitcher! Nope, I'm just slow.

Today has been a dreary one. We've had rain, snow, sleet, sneet and windy.

February was quite the stash enhancement month. I bought so much I'm ashamed of myself. I added several Little House Needleworks, Prairie Schooler, and Blackbird Designs. Now, pray tell, when will I ever get it all stitched?

Tomorrow I'll take some photos of completed pieces I've done just so I can show something. Have a great stitching week.
