A small finish

While on the bus trip, I manged to complete  the stitching of a couple small designs. One was for the HoE Halloween Scissor Fog exchange.  I'll post the photo of it as soon as my partner receives it.  The other one was for your's truly.  It's a freebie design from Helga Mandl.  I used a 32ct tea dyed fabric and DMC 4130  or is 4310 thread. I can never remember, but it is reds, rust and oranges.  It is also one of my favorite multi-colored threads.  I use it alot.  I'm also working on a small gift for a friend, the Prairie Schooler 2001 kit, and Blackbird Designs Winter Wonderland.  So, I'm trying to keep stitching while I have the patience and the desire.  Also have signed up for two more exchanges for the end of the year.  That should just about do it for me!  Have a great night.  I'm off to a Ladies Night Out sponsored by the bank that does the bus trips.  Here's the Helga M finish:
Oh, I also forgot I received my HoE Words of Christmas exchange.  Here it is:

I drink lots of coffee during the day, so this is a fun exchange gift from Ina.

HoE Ornament Exchange from Carol S.

I received The Stag Ornament from Carol S. this morning. Isn't he a handsome fellow? She did her research quite well didn't she. Guess it is about time for me to dust off my tree and start hanging all my reindeer on it! Carol used R&R fabric, DMC fibers and Bead It Beads to finish the ornament. I love those red beads. They really set him off. Thank you so much Carol, I really do love it.

2009 Christmas Challenge April Ornament

The Stag
Helga Mandl Designs
DMC 14ct Marbled Aida
DMC Fibers
Here's my April Ornament for the Christmas Ornament Challenge. I stitched this design for one of nieces for Christmas and liked it so much I had to have one for myself. I've already chosen my design for May to stitch. I don't usually stitch on Aida, however this design just seemed to work on the fabric. I braided three strands of small twine to make the hanger.
Off to cut fabric and pull threads for my Prairie Schooler Exchange! Have a great stitching day.

More giftie ornaments

Here's more of the ornaments I stitched. The first one is a Helga Mandl freebie design. I've done two of them, but forgot to get a photo of the first one. The others are some of my smalls. I was experimenting, and didn't get all of them right. But that's what makes them mine and home made. They were fun, and the recipients seemed delighted to receive them. That's what makes it worthwhile.

Merry 4th day of Christmas. Have a great week. Tomorrow, three of my friends and I are taking a day trip to Grove, OK. It's a really neat lakeside town with lots of great specialty shops.
