January Christmas Challenge Ornament

I joined the 2009 Christmas Challenge this year. My theme I chose for the challenge is deer/reindeer. So at the end of the year I should have 12 ornaments. Here's my first. It is the freebie offered by It's Daffycat. I love this little reindeer and hope to stitch it again before the year is over.
Today was a stay in day since our part of OK is covered in ice. Hopefully we will keep our power here. Some parts of the state are without it.

Here's a close-up of a limb outside my back door. It was taken early this morning. Tonight it is much heavier with ice. What fun.
I also finished the SBEBB Frosty Friends exchange piece today. I must say, it turned out really great. I want it for myself! Hopefully I'll get it in the mail before deadline Saturday. If the streets are clear, I'll be able to make it to the Post Office.

Oh Becky! He turned out awesomely cute! I'm so pleased you stitched him.

Jessie was out of college, Rick off work. But grocery stores don't close for ice and snow so off to work I went. Boo hoo.

Great ornament! I was thinking of doing the reindeer theme too. I'm way behind on my goals...

I love the Blackbird pillow you did for Hazel - gorgeous!

Cute ornament. You've had some wild weather in OK the past few days! Be careful on the ice!

Brr! Had to go put on a sweater, just looking at the cold you're having!

Your reindeer is utterly adorable! Should be very cool to see 12 reindeer ornaments at the end of the year!

Love the reindeer! You'll have to post a pic of all of them together at the end of the year!

I love this little reindeer, he is definitely on my list to stitch among the 12 ornies for 2009 Challenge. It seems just suddenly I'm seeing lots of ornies being hung with metal eyelets in them. It certainly seems it would make the hanger more durable, but I haven't tried metal eyelets since the days of putting them in with a hammer and that was kind of scary (LOL).

Very cute finish, congratulations on getting the first one in your series done. Hope the ice is not causing you any more problems and that it is melting off some. That was a nasty storm that went through.
